School Librarian Mrs. Carroll conducted morning assembly on Tuesday 14 October, 2008 for the school body of approximately 1,400. Mrs. Beneby library custodian and ninth grader Kenneth Miller winner of the Public Service Speech contested assisted with prayers and scripture reading.
The Theme for the week was, 'The Power of Words'. Both negative and positive spoken and written words were explained. Students were asked to be careful of the words they speak and keep them soft and sweet, you never know from day to day which ones you'll have to eat. Outline of the presentation is displayed on the Smart Cats Bulletin Board. Scripture references from the Bible especially the book of Proverbs are highlighted.
Tuesday 14 October, 2008 Freeport News published a list of successful students who were awarded BJC and BJC certificates. Check it out or stop by the Smart Cats Library to see if your name is on that list. Until next time, hit the books and get ready for mid-term break which begins next Tuesday. Just a reminder, come by the Library and borrow a book. It's only one dollar, $1 to join the Smart Cats.
