THE FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL AFTER HANNAH AN IKE

Student Orientation started on a high note, the first week in September, then......hurricanes Hannah and Ike threatened to take us out. Fortunately, the Prayer Warriors, Pastors, Teachers, members of the Student Christians troubled God's Throne and when they emerged from the prayer closet both Hannah and Ike were gone. The Smart Cats of Jack Hayward High lost two days of instruction as schools in the Bahamas adhered to Storm Warnings. Smart Cats know how to catch up to make those GPA'S reflect a 4.0 at the end of the semester.

Congratulations are in order to all students who hit the books and library and made the school and their parents proud by excelling in the BJC AND BGCSE Examinations. The Smart Cats welcome students from Sweeting's Cay All Age School who excelled with up to five A's in the BJC, (Bahamas Junior Certificate Examinations). We look forward to a repeat in the BGCSE (Bahamas General Certificate Secondary Examinations) next June. Principal Dannie and staff of Sweeting's Cay all Age School must feel proud of their accomplishments. Study to show thyself approved!

Students remember to use the Library, just come on in and ask for it, newspapers, magazines, copies, books and computers when they are up and running. You may not see it, but it's there. The Librarian knows just where it is.

Until next time, remember READERS ARE LEADERS.
